Colorful Birds (II)

Remember the previous colorful birds project we uploaded a few weeks ago? Today another upload of colorful bird drawing by Jonathan (8 yrs old). It's the blue Kingfisher. He joined us 3 months ago and had no confidence in drawing. He always say he can't draw a good shape, and that's not true. Look at this drawing. Will you agree that he can't draw??? The answer is definetely NO ^^ 
 

Gabriella Graziella

Gabriella (9yrs old) is one of the smartest student in IPEKA Pluit. She is chosen to be the representative of her school for the Science Olympiad in Jakarta. No matter how busy she is with her school work, Gabriella always find some time to practise her piano at home. She is now preparing for the ABRSM grade 2 exam in August 2013. Below is her video playing "Bear Dance" from one of the ABRSM grade 2 exam pieces.

 

 

Concert Announcement

This is our first A.S.L.I music concert presenting students' ASLI (which means original in English) Piano Compositions and also their skilfull voice performances. Clay art works by students and Drawing exhibitions will be at the same day,too. All the children are below 15 years old and have been working hard to bring out their best in music and art to the audiences.

 

There will be voting and award for the Best Composition, Best Voice Performance and Best Clay Art work. Please come and give your vote to your favourite Star to be ^^

Dress code formal, and unfortunately children below 5 years old is not allowed, so sorry :(

Ecossaise

Ecossaise is a type of contra dance in scottish style and usually in 2/4 times with a lively rhythm. It has a significant dynamic contrast where pianissimo and fortissimo appear very close together.

In this video, Mathilda (9 yrs old) is performing Ecossaise in G by Beethoven. She managed to play it in a very lively style.

Enthutiasm in Practising

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, and without it nothing great was ever achieved.”

So, students come on up and start being enthutiast in practising (^o^)/

Concert Preparation (II)

After being absent for almost a month, Nathaniel Arifin (8yrs old) came back with his creative original composition. He managed to catch-up with his fellow pianist friends. Nathaniel's song is about a clumsy soldier who keeps making trouble within his troops. Today we upload only an extract of his composition. For a complete version, please come and join our concert on 22 June 2013, and vote for your favourite composition, singer and clay work.

The Pretty Duo

Can't Help Loving That Man is taken from The Show Boat musical soundtrack. Here, Edeline has shown a very good interpretation of this song. Her 'jazzy' voice character has developed from time to time. And guess what??? She is just 12 years old!! She likes this song so much and has been practicing hard for her debut concert.

Levina is singing Somewhere from West Side Story. This song is about hope and optimism. Levina picked this song because she wanted to share with the world that there is always a Hope in your life. This 14-year-old girl has a very positive attitude and mind. Music is the best way to express herself.
